Creswell, Ore. - Nevada Men's Golf posted a solid first round total of 287 (-1) to end the day in a tie for 7th. Scoring was of great importance in the first round, with the day's scoring average 71.56, half a stroke under-par.
Leading the way for the Pack was Sophomore
Aaron Leach, who had a very clean card, carding three birdies and one bogey on the round. Two of those birdies came on Leach's back nine, carding a strong (-2) 34 on the inward nine. Leach sits in 16th heading into round two.
Continuing his hot form was
Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae, who posted a first round 71 (-1). Seelanagae had a slow start with two bogies in his first six holes, but fought back strongly, carding three birdies on his way in. Seelanagae sits in 21st going into tomorrow's second round.
The final two counting scores for the Pack came from
Ben Ortwein and
Jonathan Kim, both posting one over-par 73's. Ortwein's round included an eagle, two birdies and five bogies, while Kim's round included two birdies offset by three bogies. Both Kim and Ortwein sit in 35th.
The final round from the Pack came from
Liam Gobin, who also posted a one over-par 73. Gobin had a hot start, birdieing his first two holes of the day but struggled to keep the card clean throughout the round. Making four birdies on the day, Gobin will be looking for more of that kind of scoring tomorrow. Gobin sits in 35th.
