RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada Skiing received good news Tuesday ahead of the 2025 NCAA Skiing Championships, as
Jeger Halbjoerhus was elevated from his spot as an alternate into the main competition field after an early-morning lineup scratch.
Halbjoerhus' elevation into the main field now gives the Wolf Pack two skiers in the alpine events. Halbjoerhus joins
Iver Walday Naess for Wednesday's slalom and Friday's giant slalom competitions.
Naess makes his third-straight appearance at the national meet, off the strength of top-six finishes on slalom for at the Utah Invitational (eighth, Feb. 10) and RMISA Championships (fifth, Feb. 22).
Halbjoerhus makes his debut at the NCAA Championships, putting himself in position with top-10 slalom finishes at the Utah Invitational and RMISA Championships, taking fifth and ninth, respectively.
Participants for the championships were selected by a regional basis from two designated regions, the East, and the West, and bids were awarded to those specific regions, determined by the skiing committee. Halbjoerhus was the top alternate.
Wednesday's Men's Slalom begins the first run at 5:30 a.m. PT and the second run scheduled for 8:45 a.m. PT. Friday's Giant Slalom is set for a first run at 7:25 a.m. PT and a second run time of 10:25 a.m. PT.
