Wolf Pack turns in four top-20 performances Monday

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Four top-20 performances among RMISA skiers in the Giant Slalom highlighted Nevada's first day of action at the Montana State Invitational Monday.

Iver Walday Naess and David Morken used excellent second runs to climb the leaderboard, with Morken improving nine spots to 18th with a second run time of 44.92, the seventh-fastest in the field. His final time came in at 1:27.34, just 0.34 of a second behind Naess, whose own second run was the sixth-fastest in the field at 44.91 for a final time of 1:27.00 and 14th overall.

Charlotte Clément led the way for the Pack women, coming in 14th in a race which was abandoned during the second set of runs due to unsafe course conditions. As a result, the women's Giant Slalom was a one-run race, with Clément's opening run time of 45.59 giving her a top-15 finish. Jessica Blackburn posted her own top-20 finish, coming in 17th in 46.30 on her first run.

The men's course was on a different side of the hill, which enabled the field to complete its two runs. Jeger Halbjoerhus took 23rd in 1:27.56, followed by Jules Baur in 26th at 1:27.86. Ulrik Danielsen (1:29.16) and Ryan Herhusky (1:30.31) also placed for the Wolf Pack Monday. Engebret Halbjoerhus and Isaac Mozen did not finish their second runs.

Zali Sutton (46.69) finished 27th while Georgie Sullivan (47.04) was 30th, to round out the women's finishers.

The Wolf Pack closes the meet Tuesday with the Slalom at Bridger Bowl, before heading to Park City for the weekend's Utah Invitational.
