RENO, Nev. - For the third-straight season, Nevada's
Iver Walday Naess was selected to compete at the NCAA Skiing Championships, as the NCAA announced the field Tuesday.
The 2025 NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 5-8 at Dartmouth Skiway (Alpine events) and Oak Hill Outdoor Center (Nordic) in Hanover, N.H. Naess will compete in both alpine events, giant slalom (March 5) and slalom (March 7), at the championships. Each round will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
Top-six finishes on slalom for Naess, at the Utah Invitational (eighth, Feb. 10) and this past weekend's RMISA Championships (fifth, Feb. 22) qualified him for the national meet. Participants for the championships are selected by a regional basis from two designated regions, the East, and the West, and bids were awarded to those specific regions, determined by the skiing committee.
At last year's national championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo., Naess finished 24th in slalom and 28th in giant slalom. At the 2023 meet, he secured a top-20 finish in slalom, placing 18th overall and scoring 13 points for Nevada. In giant slalom, his 23rd overall finish in the field gave Nevada eight more points, as he finished the championships with 21 total points.
Coverage of the NCAA Championships will be streamed live on NCAA.com. A full schedule of the alpine events for each day that can be found below.
