PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Nevada women's golf team wrapped up play at the Alice and John Wallace Classic, finishing T-15th with a three-round total of 900 (+48) at Monterey Country Club. The Wolf Pack saved their best for last, improving their team score with a final-round 298, marking their lowest tournament round.
Nevada faced a highly competitive field featuring No. 5 Oregon, No. 3 USC, No. 38 San Jose State, and No. 44 Pepperdine, and it gained valuable experience against some of the nation's best teams.
Final Round Highlights
Gabby Kano led Nevada's efforts, who finished tied for 23rd with a 71-73-74 (218, +5). She continued her steady play in the final round, recording multiple birdie opportunities but missing key putts down the stretch.
Raesa Sheikh provided the biggest spark of the day, carding a final-round 71 (-1) to tie for 44th at 223 (+10). She capitalized on birdie chances on holes 2, 4, and 13, maintaining composure to finish under par for the round.
Nikki Chindavong tied for 60th with a three-round total of 227 (+14), recording scores of 80-71-76. She had a birdie watch on the back nine, rolling in a crucial birdie on hole 17 to finish strong.
Anna Shultse placed 82nd with rounds of 78-77-77 (232, +19), showing consistency with back-to-back rounds 77. She found a rhythm early in the round, sinking a birdie on hole five before settling into steady play.
Amy Na rounded the lineup, finishing 116th at 240 (+46). She had one of her best stretches in the final round, improving with an 81 (+10) and knocking in a birdie on hole 3.
Tough Competition at the Top
No. 5 Oregon put on a dominant display, finishing at -34, while No. 3 USC claimed second place at -11. No. 44 Pepperdine secured third at +11. As they focus on upcoming tournaments, Nevada will take the momentum from their improved final round.
