Palm Springs, Calif. - The first day of play at The Prestige hosted by UC Davis and Stanford was a tough one, with the scoring average being 72.53, half a shot over-par. 

The Pack had three players shoot scores of one over-par 72 on Day One. Aaron Leach had an up and down day but had three back-nine birdies to shoot 34 on the back and shoot a 72 (+1). Liam Gobin had a very steady day, and will look for more birdies tomorrow after just two in the first round. The final 72 shooter was Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae, who had three birdies on the day, offset by two bogies and a double. 

Next best for the Pack was Ben Ortwein, who shot a three over-par 75. Ortwein had a solid even-par back nine, with two birdies and a double, following a 39 (+3) on the front. Rounding out the Wolf Pack team was Jonathan Kim, who had a tale of two nines. Kim went out in 32 (-4), a front nine that included three birdies, an eagle and one bogey. Kim struggled on the back nine to post a 76 (+5). 

The team sits 17th after Day One and will look for a strong day tomorrow to climb up the leaderboard. 

Rishi Gupta and Ryan Sear represented Nevada at The Prestige Individual Tournament, hosted at The Golf Club at Terra Lago. Gupta shot a 75 that was highlighted by four birdies, to put him 17th in the individual field. Ryan Sear shot a 78 to place him in 26th.
