Reno, Nev - The Nevada Track and Field team put together a solid showing Friday, on Day One of the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Many Pack athletes set personal bests on Day One and look to carry their solid performances into tomorrow.Â
Long Jump kicked off festivities for the Pack,
Kaja Maltaric led the way with a mark of 5.60m, finishing 29th. Valeria Paez-Rueda and
Hazel Gaspaire both posted jumps of 5.33m, with the former achieving a new personal best.
Anne Schuch recorded a 5.20m jump, while
Johanna Haas rounded out the Pack's efforts with a 4.60m mark.Â
The High Jump saw three Nevada athletes clear 1.62m.
Stina Larsson finished 14th, while Gaspaire and Paez-Rueda tied for 17th and 19th respectively.Â
On the track first up was the 200m Dash where
Natasha Chetty highlighted with a personal best time of 24.80, placing 38th.
Vivian Groppe also set a new PR at 25.44, while
Savana Chalmers clocked 26.51.
The 400m was the penultimate event of the day,
Jasmine Harris ran a time of 59.24, finishing 57th, while
Leylah Diaz set a personal best with a 59.42.Â
In the 200m Invitational,
Magdalene George ran a solid race, running a 23.69 to place 7th in the very strong invitational field.Â
