PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - Nevada falls to Washington, 83-66, in the first game of the Acrisure Series on Thursday afternoon.
As a team, Nevada shot 37.3 percent (22-for-59) from the field, 42.9 percent (6-for-14) from the three-point range, and 69.6 percent from the line.
Tayshawn Comer set the pace for the Pack offense with 16 points and five assists. Comer was followed by
Elijah Price with 12 points.
On defense, Comer led the team in steals with two, while Price recorded five blocks in the game.
Nevada had another big game in the glass with 30 rebounds recorded as a team. Price was the leader of the Pack with 8 rebounds.
First Half
Nevada struck first with a
Joel Armotrading jumper to start the game. The Huskies responded with a four-point lead at the 13-minute mark.
The Pack made a comeback to take the lead, 11-9, but Washington was fast to respond with a seven-point run.
Nevada stayed strong in the first half by holding the Huskies to 36.7 percent shooting from the field, finishing the half 34-28.
Second Half
The Pack continued to struggle in defense, particularly in the paint, as Washington scored repeatedly near the basket. The Huskies got their highest lead with a 19-point difference at the 7-minute mark.
The Pack was able to cut the deficit to 74-64 with a
Vaughn Weems 3-point jumper on a Huskies turnover, but was unable to get close, ending the game 83-66.
