Carpenter Announces Class of 2026 Signees

Reno, Nev. - The Nevada Men's Golf program and Head Coach Trake Carpenter have announced the addition of two new international recruits for the 2026 season, Wiss Jittathorn and Lapassapon Heras-Gomez.

Wiss Jittathorn - Pathum Thani, Thailand (WAGR: 670)
Jittathorn joins the Wolf Pack with a strong amateur resume that includes two WAGR wins and 11 top-10 finishes in the last two years, reaching as high as 570th in the world rankings. In 2025, he won the TKG IPGA B Championship #2 and placed third at the Lotus Valley Amateur World Golf Ranking Championship. He also competed in the Singha All Thailand Championship and 52nd Thailand Open, gaining valuable experience against professional fields. He's been a member of the Thailand National Team the last two seasons, bringing lots of team golf experience to Reno.

"I spent all summer watching Wiss compete in the US in 2024 at IMG Junior Worlds, the US Junior Amateur, and Junior PGA Championship," Coach Carpenter said, "it was obvious he knew how to compete with the best juniors in the world on championship courses, and he was a big piece to jump on board to get things rolling with the 2026 class. His leadership skills will be noticed on and off the golf course even as a freshman."

Lapassapon Heras-Gomez - Phuket, Thailand (WAGR: 316)
Heras-Gomez is currently the 316th world ranked amateur golfer and has been as high as 272nd. He has earned four wins and 14 top-10 finishes in WAGR-counting events. His top performances include appearances in the last two U.S. Junior Amateurs where he advanced to match play in 2025 at Trinity Forest, and making the cut in both appearances at the Asia-Pacific Amateur the last two years.

"Lapassapon is an elite ball-striker for his age and has the game to both shoot several under par and plot his way around championship setups," said Coach Carpenter, "he will step in right away and be a game-changer for our line-up. He's one you watch swing once or twice and know he's got the extra gear in his game to compete at the next level."
