Reno, Nev. - The Nevada Men's Golf team hit the course for round two Monday, posting a team total of 310 (+22) on what was another difficult day at Erin Hills.
Leading the way for the Pack in round two was
Liam Gobin, who posted a round of four over-par 76. Gobin's round included two birdies, both on par 5's, he sits in 42nd heading into tomorrow's final round.
Ben Ortwein was next best for the Pack, posting a five over-par 77. Ortwein showed great resilience in round two after making a sextuple bogey 10 on his fourth hole of the day, he went on to play his final fourteen holes in one under-par, making four birdies. He will take that form into tomorrow's final round. Tied with Ortwein on the day was
Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae, who played solid golf all day, making one birdie and six bogies. He will look for a cleaner card in the final round.
The last counting score for the Wolf Pack came from
Aaron Leach, who posted an eight over-par 80. He made one birdie on the day but will look for a cleaner round tomorrow.
Riki Matsumoto rounded out the Pack starting five, posting a round of 81, highlighted by three birdies. Like his teammates, Matsumoto will look to have less big numbers on the card tomorrow.
Individually, Tiger Xie and
Jonathan Kim both posted rounds of 81, with Xie making three birdies and Kim making one birdie and an eagle.
The Pack will return to Erin Hills for the third and final round tomorrow.
