Monterey, Calif. - Nevada Men's Golf kicked off round one of the Saint Mary's Invitational Monday, finishing the round in 9th following a +2 team total of 290.
Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae led the way for the Pack on day one, posting a four under-par round of 68 that included six birdies and two bogeys. Seelanagae leads the field in par-4 scoring average and heads into round two in 3rd place.
The Pack's next three counting scores all tied on the day, posting two over-par rounds of 74.
Liam Gobin had the cleanest card of the group, making one birdie and three bogies, whilst Ortwein made three birdies, three bogies and a double. Rounding out the two-over group was
Aaron Leach who made four birdies, four bogies and a double. Both Leach and Ortwein played their second nines under par, with Ortwein posting a 34 and Leach posting a 35. The group ended the round tied for 41st place.
Rounding out the Pack starting five was
Riki Matsumoto, who had an up and down day, posting a four over-par 76 that included four birdies and eight bogies. He will look to clean up is card tomorrow as he heads into round two in 60th place.
Individually,
Monte Chumchaivate posted a five over-par 77 that included three birdies, five bogies and a triple. He sits in 71st after round one.
The Pack return tomorrow morning for round two.
