PARIS –Nevada alumnus Moez Echargui will match up against Great Britain's Dan Evans in the opening round of the 2024 Olympics Men's Singles Tennis tournament.
Echargui, representing Tunisia, will make his Olympic debut Saturday, July 27 at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris. Echargui and Evans are the third scheduled match on Court Six, with the first match beginning at 3 a.m. PT. Evans, from Birmingham, England, is currently ranked 59th by the ATP. Evans, 34, has a career record of 149-173, and he reached his peak ranking in August 2023 when he ranked 21st.
Echargui, a 2016 Nevada graduate, was the 2014-15 Mountain West Co-Player of the Year for the Wolf Pack. The La Marsa, Tunisia native was also dubbed the 2011-12 WAC Freshman of the Year and was named to the Mountain West 25th Season Men's Tennis Team this past April.
