FAYETTEVILLE – Magdalene George set two new personal records in the 100 meters and 200 meters, while also qualifying for the quarterfinal in the 200 meters to highlight the first day in Fayetteville for the Wolf Pack at the NCAA West Preliminaries Thursday afternoon.

George inched her way into the quarterfinal of the 200 meters after finishing 23
rd with a personal record mark of 23.18, moving her up to second all-time in school history in the event. The quarterfinal is set for Saturday, beginning at 7:50 p.m. central time. In the 100 meters, George came away with a personal record time of 11.37, sitting just outside the qualifying standard to move on to the quarterfinals, placing 33
rd. Her time keeps her at the second-fastest athlete in Nevada school history, lowering her previous mark set at the Fresno State Invitational at the end of April. In order to qualify for the next round of competition, the top 24 times advance with the top three runners from each heat plus the next six fastest times.

The javelin trio made up of
Emily Poole,
Lilly Urban, and
Hallee Hughes all came within the ballpark of their personal record marks set at the Mountain West Championships two weeks prior. Poole led the way, throwing for a mark of 48.80 meters, sitting in ninth ahead of the final flight before finishing 20
th overall. Urban (46.94m) was close behind in 30
th, while Hughes (44.58m) placed 39
th.

Representing the Pack solo in the 800 meters, Halyn Sengal finished 46
th (2:11.40).
