RENO, Nev. - Nevada men's golfer Enrique Dimayuga carded a second-round score of 71 (+1) Tuesday at the NCAA Stanford Regional, and he is tied for 25th overall at -1 after 36 holes of competition.
With one round remaining, Dimayuga will need to have a strong final round performance in order to have the opportunity to finish as the top individual not on an advancing team in order to move on to the NCAA Championships.
Dimayuga started the second round with back-to-back pars, before picking up a double bogey on the third hole. After a par on the fourth hole, Dimayuga tallied a bogey on the fifth hole; however, he responded in tremendous fashion, as he reeled off three pars and a birdie to complete the front nine. Dimayuga maintained his superb play on the beginning of the back nine, as he tallied four pars and three birdies across holes 10-16. He finished the day with two bogeys, bringing his score to a 71 for the round.
Dimayuga is scheduled to tee off Wednesday morning for the final set of 18 holes, as he aims to put together his best round yet and place himself in position to potentially advance to the NCAA Championships.
