SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Nevada Men's Golf team completed a dominant 54-hole effort at the Gaucho Invitational Tuesday afternoon, as Enrique Dimayuga earned the first individual title by a Wolf Pack men's golfer since September 2022, and Nevada captured their first team title since 2021.
It was a historical performance for the Pack, as Nevada recorded the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history, carding a sensational 833 (-31) to secure the team title over LMU by three strokes.
Dimayuga was incredible throughout the event, earning the first individual title of his career with a score of 204 (-12). Dimayuga's score was tied for the eighth-best 54-hole score in Wolf Pack men's golf history.
Dimayuga closed out the event by carding a 70 (-2) in the final round. The senior opened the round with a birdie; but, he picked up a double bogey on the second hole. Dimayuga bounced back from the double bogey by earning five pars and two birdies before entering the back nine. Tied with one other golfer for the first position on the leaderboard entering the back nine, Dimayuga showed tremendous poise, as he recorded six pars, two birdies, and just one bogey over the course of the final nine holes, going on to earn the individual title by two strokes.
The Pack finished with an outstanding four golfers within the top-12 spots on the final leaderboard, as Tom Patterson (T4th), Liam Gobin (T8th), and Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae (12th) also had exceptional performances.
Patterson carded a 69 (-3) on Tuesday for the second consecutive round, as he finished tied for fourth overall with a final score of 208 (-8). Patterson's T4th finish, as well as his score of 208, were both career-best marks for the senior. Patterson tallied 10 pars, four birdies, and one eagle throughout the final round.
Gobin finished two strokes behind Patterson on the final leaderboard to finish tied for eighth, after recording a 54-hole score of 210 (-6), both of which were career-best marks for the junior while at Nevada. Gobin closed out the event with a sensational score of 66 (-6), marking a new career-best single round score. Gobin's incredible final round consisted of 12 pars, six birdies, and zero bogeys.
Seelanagae earned the 12th spot on the individual leaderboard with a 54-hole score of 211 (-5); and, like Gobin, those both represented career-best marks for the junior while at Nevada. Seelanagae carded a 72 (E) for the third and final round after tallying 14 pars, two birdies, and two bogeys. Seelanagae was highly consistent throughout the entire event, recording just seven bogeys during the tournament.
Alex Maxwell rounded out the Nevada lineup, finishing tied for 63rd with a score of 230 (+14). Maxwell had his best performance of the tournament Tuesday, carding a 73 (+1) to close out the event, after tallying 10 pars and four birdies.
Competing as an individual participant, Keita Okada completed the Gaucho Invitational tied for 55th overall at +10. Okada had an impressive performance on Tuesday to close out the event, recording a score of 72 (E). Okada tallied 12 pars, three birdies, and three bogeys throughout the final set of 18 holes.
