FRESNO, Calif. – To kick off the first day of competition, Nevada's
Rayven Nealey and
Natasha Chetty represented the Pack in the long jump invitational section, where both athletes posted top-10 finishes Friday evening.
Beginning with the preliminaries of the event, both Nealey and Chetty saw their furthest marks on their first attempts, with Nealey reaching a mark of 6.00 meters and Chetty a mark of 5.64 meters, going into the final third and eighth respectively.
In the final, Nealey and Chetty kept their rankings, ultimately finishing third and eighth overall, with Chetty improving her mark to 5.68 meters on her fifth attempt overall and second in the final.
The Wolf Pack will continue action tomorrow with the remainder of the track and field events set to begin at 10:00 a.m at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School.
