STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada's
Iver Walday Naess secured a 28
th place finish in the giant slalom to wrap the first day of the NCAA Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colorado at Steamboat Resort.

To begin the day, Walday Naess clocked a first run of 54.86 before coming back three hours later to compete in the second run. Walday Naess posted a second run time of 52.94, earning the fourth fastest run in the field to come away from Wednesday's race with a combined time of 1:47.80, finishing 28
th to put three points on the scoreboard for Nevada.

On Friday evening, Walday Naess will return to the slopes for the slalom event, the first run taking place at 6:20 p.m. PST on Howelsen Hill.
