RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Tennis heads into its final weekend featuring a team event with the majority of the team heading to San Diego for the SDSU Fall Classic, while Amahée Charrier heads to Rome, Ga. for the ITA Conference Masters Championships.
Charrier's run at the ITA Conference Masters Championship begins with West Coast foe, Katja Wiersholm of California. Wiersholm is the three-seed in the draw of 30 individuals, each representing their conference. The four semifinalists of the singles draw earn a bid to the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas, later this month.
Wiersholm is ranked 33rd in the country and second on her top-ten-ranked team, California.
Charrier and Wiersholm are set to play at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET on Thursday, November 7.
The rest of the Wolf Pack travel to San Diego for the final team event of the fall season at the SDSU Fall Classic.
This year's SDSU Fall Classic will be split into five singles draws (gold, red, black, white, and silver) and two doubles draws (gold and black). Each draw, singles and doubles, features eight players/pairings.
Petra Janigova will open the weekend on Friday at 9:45 a.m. against San Diego State's Gloria Alogo Piqueras in the red draw. Joining Janigova in the red draw is Silvia Costache, playing Anait Arutiunian of Eastern Washington,
Doga Akyurek and
Wiem Boubaker will play in the silver draw, also beginning at 9:45 a.m. Akyurek plays Kelly Leung of UC San Diego. Boubaker plays Athena Wardy, another UCSD Triton.
Marlene Foerster and
Kennedy Robinson enter the black draw, beginning play at 11:15 a.m. on Friday. Foerster will play Colorado State's Logan Voeks, while Robinson matches up against Stefanie Silva of Saint Mary's.
Lou-Anne Guerbert is the lone Wolf Pack player in the white draw, taking on Eastern Washington's Kenzington Mann, scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
In doubles, Costache and Janigova will play in the gold draw, opening against Colorado State's Victoria Erechtchenko and Sarah Weekely.
Robinson and Foerster will pair up in the black draw, playing Arutiunian and Sara Vasic from Eastern Washington in the first round. All doubles matches begin play at 9 a.m. on Friday.
