This Week in Wolf Pack Athletics

RENO, Nev. - With the Holiday Season in the rearview, Nevada's winter season gets underway this week, as Skiing, Women's Swim and Dive, Indoor Track & Field, and Men's Tennis join Women's and Men's Basketball in action.

The Nevada Ski team opens its season Monday with four days at the Western Region Tech Elite Series. After the first two days of action in Jackson, Wyoming, the Wolf Pack concludes the event in Snowbird, Utah.

Swim and dive, fresh off of its week-long training trip to San Diego, holds its Senior Meet Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against New Mexico. Indoor track and field competes at the UW Preview Invitational in Seattle, while men's tennis heads to La Quinta, Calif., for the National Collegiate Tennis Classic.

MEN'S TENNIS
The Wolf Pack opens the spring season this weekend with multiple dual meets at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic in La Quinta, Calif. Nevada will open play Friday, Jan. 12, against an opponent to be determined--the Wolf Pack will learn its opponents late Thursday afternoon.

TRACK AND FIELD
Nevada track and field will kick off the 2024 season at the UW Preview Invitational this Saturday, Jan. 13. The squad is coming off an exceptional 2022-23 season, and are looking to capitalize on that success beginning with the indoor season and onto the outdoor season. The indoor season will consist of six meets, concluding with the NCAA Indoor Championships March 8-9. The outdoor season will include 10 meets, concluding with the NCAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Oregon, June 5-8.

SKIING 
The Nevada ski team begin competition at the Western Region Tech Elite Series Jan. 8-9, and conclude Jan. 11-12. The first two days will be the giant slalom, followed by the slalom events in Snowbird, Utah. The Pack will then continue competition next week at the Utah Invitational and Westminster Invitational starting Jan. 17.

SWIM AND DIVE
Nevada swim and dive will host their only home meet of the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Jan. 13. and seniors will be recognized pre-meet. The swim team is coming off a dominant mid-season performance in mid-November and is looking to capitalize on their first and only home meet of the season. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. at Lombardi Pool and admission is free. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive a free donut.
