Nevada women's basketball back on the road at Utah State Wednesday

LOGAN, Utah - Nevada women's basketball looks to continue its strong road performance in the Mountain West Wednesday at Utah State at 5 p.m.

The Pack are currently 2-0 in Mountain West play on the road, most recently obtaining a 64-57 win at San Jose State. Freshman guard Izzy Sullivan led the Pack offensively with her third 20-point game of the season.

Wednesday's game will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and available to listen on KPLY 630 AM. Emmy award-winning broadcaster Larry Burnett will be on the radio play-by-play once again for Nevada women's basketball, where fans can also listen online through the Varsity Network.

INCREDIBLE IZZY
Nevada women's basketball freshman guard Izzy Sullivan has hit the ground running in her first season with the Pack. Sullivan, a two-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week award winner, has three 20-point games and is coming off another 20-point outing in a win at San Jose State Jan. 13. She had a career-high 22 points in Nevada's Mountain West opener Dec. 30 against New Mexico. Sullivan is the first Nevada freshman in the Amanda Levens Era to register multiple 20-point games in her first collegiate season. Sullivan made her first collegiate start Jan. 3 at Boise State shortly after collecting her second conference Freshman of the Week award.

EARLY WORK
Nevada has two freshmen in Dymonique Maxie and Izzy Sullivan that are climbing the freshmen ranks in the NCAA Era. Maxie needs just three more steals to move into the top 10 for most steals by a Nevada freshman. Maxie needs 31 more steals to claim the Nevada Freshmen Steals Record set by Carissa Meyer (1994-95). Sullivan is currently fifth among Nevada freshmen in the NCAA Era in made 3-pointers  in a single season. She needs 22 more to claim the Nevada Freshmen 3-Pointers Record set by current Nevada teammate Audrey Roden (2021-22).

MILESTONE MARKERS
Nevada has had a trio of Pack players who recently obtained career milestones. Junior guard Audrey Roden and senior guard Victoria Davis recently hit the century mark for career steals. Roden (four steals) and Davis (two steals) both obtained their 100th career steals Dec. 21 against BYU. Davis also surpassed the 500 career points mark Jan. 10 against Air Force. Senior forward Lexie Givens' first rebound of the game Dec. 30 against New Mexico was her 500th career rebound. Givens is three steals away from cracking 100 career steals. Roden is one assist away from dishing out her 100th career assist.

CLUTCH CLAIRE
Nevada added more scoring in its arsenal in two-time All-Atlantic 10 player Claire Jacobs (La Salle). Prior to being La Salle's leading scorer this past year, Jacobs reached the 1,000-point milestone during the 2021-22 season. She became the 27th player in program history to score 1,000 points and the third-fastest La Salle student-athlete to hit that mark. Jacobs scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half and knocked in the game-winning shot in overtime with one second left in Nevada's overtime win against Central Arkansas Nov. 25.
She was named to the University of Denver Classic All-Tournament Team for her efforts. Jacobs forced overtime with a game-tying 3-pointer from NBA range at the buzzer a week later against UCSB Dec. 2.

AWESOME AUDREY
Audrey Roden, a member of the 2021-22 Mountain West All-Freshman Team, returns to Nevada for her junior season. She started the season by registering her fifth career 20-point game by dropping 21 in the season opener Nov. 9. As a sophomore, Roden finished in the top 20 in the Mountain West in scoring average in conference games. The West Linn, Oregon, native scored in double figures 15 times in 2022-23, including three 20-point outings. She also became the third Nevada sophomore to reach 500 career points under head coach Amanda Levens. Roden is currently in the top 30 nationally in steals and is third in the Mountain West with 43. She came up with her second career double-double Nov. 29 against San Diego (22 points, 11 rebounds).

SCOUTING UTAH STATE
Utah State is looking to end a 10-game losing streak, with its last win coming Nov. 25. The Aggies are scoring 56.8 points per game while giving up an average of 69.3 points per game to its opponents. Utah State, however, thrives going to the free throw line, making over 12 free throws per game.

Cheyenne Stubbs leads the Utah State offense with 15.9 points per game while co-leading the team in rebounds with 4.1 rebounds per game. Stubbs also leads the team in steals (29) and assists (38) while knocking down 27 3-pointers.
