RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Men's Golf team and Head Coach Trake Carpenter have officially released the 2024 spring schedule.
The Pack will face a challenging and strenuous slate this spring, as they prepare to compete for a title at the 2024 Mountain West Championships in late April.
"Our spring schedule will serve as terrific preparation as we lead up the the Mountain West Championships at the end of April," said Carpenter. "We will compete against a plethora of top-25 programs in February and March, while also getting numerous guys the experience of playing as individuals. Our depth will improve throughout this spring, making for a very competitive lineup as we enter postseason play."
Nevada will commence the spring slate with a trip to La Quinta, California to compete at The Prestige at PGA West, hosted by UC Davis. The event will take place at the world-renowned PGA West Greg Norman Golf Course, beginning on Monday, February 19 and concluding on Wednesday, February 21.Â
After the opening event, Nevada will travel to Somis, California for a one-day event, the Saticoy Showdown, at The Saticoy Golf Club. Pepperdine will host the event scheduled for Monday, March 11.
A rigorous test awaits the Pack following the Saticoy Showdown, as Nevada will travel to Tucson, Arizona for The Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Arizona. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will take place at Tucson Country Club, beginning on Monday, March 18, before concluding the following day.
Another trip to California awaits the Pack following The Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, as they are slated to head to Northern California to compete in The Goodwin for the third consecutive year. The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford, will take place at TPC Harding Park, one of the premier courses on the west coast. The event is set to begin on Thursday, March 28 and conclude on Saturday, March 30.
Nevada will then return to California for the Gaucho Invitational, hosted by UC Santa Barbara, beginning on Monday, April 8 and concluding the following day. The Gaucho Invitational will take place at Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta, California.Â
The Pack is set to close out the regular season in El Macero, California at the El Macero Classic, hosted by UC Davis. The El Macero Classic will take place at El Macero Country Club, and the three-day tournament is slated to begin on Friday, April 12.Â
The 2024 Mountain West Championships are scheduled to begin on Friday, April 26 and conclude on Sunday, April 28. The venue for this year's Championship is Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon, where the Pack will aim to compete for a conference title.
If Nevada qualifies for postseason play, the NCAA Regional Round is scheduled to take place May 13-15, followed by the NCAA Championships from May 24-29.Â
The Pack is coming off a strong fall season, and Nevada has boosted their roster further with the addition of Arkansas transfer Enrique Dimayuga ahead of the spring slate. Nevada boasts a deep roster, and the Pack will aim to compete for a Mountain West Championship and get back to the NCAA Regionals this spring.
