RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's swim and dive unveils new and updated locker room, completed earlier this year.
Â
The project costs were $1.3 million and will provide a dedicated space for the team, and aid in ongoing recruiting efforts. This renovation creates a locker room featuring new lockers and finishes while displaying the history and success of the program.
Â
"We feel so lucky because we have one of the best locker rooms in the country," said head coach
Brendon Bray. "We couldn't be more excited about the support we are receiving from our university!"
Â
The new locker room is state of the art. Each new locker is made with water resistant materials and includes personalized locked compartments. Leather couches with "Nevada" branding are available for rest between workouts and classes as well as a separate room within the locker room serving recovery purposes with access to recovery lounge chairs, roller pads and other recovery items. The space is separate from the public locker room and includes refrigerator, private bathrooms, and shower room as well as a high-definition television. Â
Â
"The new locker room is a dedicated space for our team only and it's a place that we can hang out and build team morale," said
Bailey Heydra, junior and All-Mountain West diver.
"Having our own space allows us to chat and have conversation that we wouldn't have if we were spread out in the old locker room. This helps us get closer as a team. It is also a great place to get ready for practice and prepare for home competitions."
