Victoria Gailey Earns All-Mountain West First Team Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Following another sensational season in which she earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Regional Round for the second consecutive year, Nevada Women's golfer Victoria Gailey has been recognized as a member of the All-Mountain West First Team as voted among head coaches in the conference, the league announced Thursday.

The award marks the fourth time that Gailey has earned All-Mountain West honors and the first time in her career that she has garnered First Team All-Conference recognition.

The accolade adds more history to Gailey's legendary career, as she is now the first player in program history to earn First Team All-Mountain West honors, and just the second player in Nevada Women's Golf history to garner All-Conference recognition four separate times throughout her career.

Gailey's final collegiate season was nothing short of outstanding. The fifth-year senior earned six top-10 finishes in nine total events, and she finished within the top-17 of each event that she competed in this year.

Gailey also earned three individual titles, claiming victory at the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic, the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational, and The Clash at Boulder Creek.

Gailey set program records for single-round low score (65), 36-hole low score (133), and 54-hole tournament score (201), as well as single-season average score (71.12) this year. Her average score of 71.12 not only ranked first in program history, but was also the 16th best average score in the nation.

She finished tied for sixth place at the Mountain West Championships, marking the fourth time in her storied career that she has recorded a top-10 finish at the conference tournament.

Gailey will turn her focus to the NCAA Regional Round, as she is set to begin competing at TPC San Antonio on Monday, May 8. The event will span three days, with one 18-hole round set for each day. The top individual performer who is not on an advancing team will qualify for the 2023 NCAA Women's Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
