Nevada track and field announces signing of Iyanuoluwa Bada

RENO, Nev. – Nevada track and field announces the signing of Nigerian native Iyanuoluwa Bada, marking the seventh signee for the 2023-24 season.

"We are so excited for Iyanuoluwa to be joining our team," said assistant track and field coach Scott Williamson. "She has great international competition experience, and we expect her to make an immediate impact in the short sprints as well as a part of our relays."

Coming from Ikeja, Nigeria, Bada has a personal best time in the 100 meters (11.64) and will be a part of head coach Shantel Twiggs' sprints group upon her arrival to Reno. With this time, Bada would sit at fifth all-time at Nevada in the 100 meters.

Bada will be joining six other incoming signees for the class of 2023-24, all coming from different places around the world. Training in the sprints group with Bada will be Magdalene George and Melia Middleton, with George also coming to Nevada from Nigeria, and specializing in the 100 and 200 meters. Based out of Gilroy, California, Middleton specializes in sprints and jumps, specifically in the 400 meters and 400 hurdles.

The rest of the signing class specialize in a different range of events. Coming all the way from Europe, United Kingdom's multis specialist Grace Colmer and Swedish native and jumps athlete Stina Larrson will be training under Williamson, along with Oregon javelin thrower Hallee Hughes and Gig Harbor, Washington distance extraordinaire Hannah Lee.

All seven athletes will be looking to begin their career at Nevada in the fall.
