COLUMBIA, Mo. -  Peyton Callens finished tied for 26th at two shots below par, and Alex Maxwell completed the day  tied for 31st at two-under-par Monday at the Tiger Collegiate Invitational, leading the way for the Nevada Men's Golf team.

The Pack finished the day in 12th place overall with a 36-hole score of 578 (+2). Nevada started the day strong, recording a score of 287 (-1) in the first round, before carding a 291 (+3) in the second round.

Callens had an exceptional day for the Pack, shooting 70 (-2) in the opening-round, followed by a 71 (-1) in the afternoon round.

Callens struggled to begin the first round, bogeying two of the first four holes; but, he responded in a massive way, reeling off three consecutive birdies on holes 8-10. Callens then picked up three straight pars, before bogeying the 14th hole. Callens once again managed to bounce back  strongly, earning back-to-back pars and then proceeding to sink back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18. He finished off the round with four straight pars, placing him at two shots below par after the first 18 holes.

In the second round, starting on the fourth hole, Callens once again struggled to begin the round, parring the first hole he played before picking up a double bogey on the 5th hole.

Callens parred two consecutive holes but bogeyed the 8th hole. After another par on the ninth hole, Callens earned an impressive eagle on the par-5 10th hole, marking the beginning of a sensational run through the back nine. Callens failed to bogey any holes on the back nine, while he picked up two birdies in addition to the eagle. Callens then parred the first four holes on the course to complete the round, finishing the day in a tie for 26th

Maxwell also had an impressive day for Nevada, finishing tied for 31st with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2). Maxwell carded back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1), marking the first time that the freshman has recorded consecutive rounds below par this spring.

Maxwell earned five birdies and nine pars throughout the first round, before tallying two birdies and 15 pars in the second round.

Trey Davis used an outstanding second round performance to finish third in the Nevada lineup and tie for 51st overall. Davis shot 75 (+3) in the first round before regrouping to shoot an impressive 71 (-1) in the second round. Davis had one eagle, three birdies, and 10 pars over the second set of 18 holes.

Keita Okada finished tied for 70th with a 36-hole score of 152 (+8). He shot a 74 in the first round, before recording a 78 in the second round.
