NEDERLAND, Colo. – Nevada skiing finishes day one of the Spencer James Nelson Memorial Thursday with Iver Naess highlighting the day with a top-25 finish in the men's giant slalom.

Naess earned an overall time of 1:41.83, putting him in 24
th place, after ranking 23
rd at the conclusion of his first run (50.10). The next highest finisher on the men's side,
Ibon Mintegui, placed 34
th with a combined overall time of 1:43.13. Jeger Halbjoerhus and
Francesco Colombi each competed in the first run, Halbjoerhus with an effort of 51.38 and Colombi with a 52.17.

On the women's side,
Honor Clissold saw the highest finish for Nevada, in 42
nd place with a combined overall time of 1:50.89. Not far behind,
Georgie Sullivan and
Sixtine Piccard finished 48
th (1:51.42) and 49
th (1:51.73) respectively, while
Elle Murphy and
Tiia Nurminen rounded out the field in 59
th and 60
th.

The Pack continues competition tomorrow for day two of the invitational, before traveling to Minturn, Colorado to compete in the Denver Invitational Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12. The women's first run of giant slalom will begin tomorrow at 7:10 a.m. PST, with the men following shortly after for their first run in giant slalom at 8:30 a.m. PST.
