Nevada Wraps up Play at The Show at Spanish Trail

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Nevada Women's Golf Team closed out play at The Show at Spanish Trail Tuesday afternoon, finishing the event in sixth place on the final team leaderboard after carding a combined 877 across 54 holes. 

Victoria Gailey finished first in the Nevada lineup, carding a three-round score of 216 (E) after recording a 73 (+1) in the final round on Tuesday. Gailey finished tied for 12th overall on the final leaderboard, maintaining her streak of finishing in the top-17 of every event she has competed in this season. Gailey had a strong finish to her final round, recording two birdies and five pars over the final seven holes. 

Leah John carded a 75 (+3) over the final 18 holes of play, placing her in a tie for 17th overall on the final leaderboard after shooting a 54-hole score of 218 (+2) throughout the event. John has also recorded a top-17 finish in all five tournaments she has played in this season. She tallied two birdies and 11 pars over the final 18 holes at The Show at Spanish Trail.

Freshman Gabby Kano had a solid tournament, recording a combined score of 219 (+3) after carding 75 over the final 18 holes, placing her in a tie for 21st overall. Kano picked up two birdies and 13 pars throughout the final round. She has now placed in the top-22 of- four out of five events during her first collegiate season.

Anitra Khoth and Kayla Nocum each finished in a tie for 70th overall after recording a 54-hole score of 231. Nocum carded a 78 (+6) over the final 18 holes, while Khoth turned in a score of 80 (+8) to close out The Show at Spanish Trail.

Competing as an individual, Kaitlin Fleiner shot a combined score of 234 (+18) throughout the event. Fleiner shot an 80 (+8) in the final round.

Up Next

Nevada will be back in action this coming Monday (Feb. 27), as they are slated to travel to Sacramento, California to compete at The Causeway Invitational, hosted by UC Davis.
