RENO, Nev. - KPLY 630 AM will air every Nevada women's basketball game on the radio for the 2023-24 season.
Emmy award-winning broadcaster Larry Burnett will once again provide the play-by-play for the Wolf Pack this season. Every broadcast will start with a 20-minute pregame show prior to tipoff and a postgame show with interviews by head coach Amanda Levens and select student-athletes. Fans can also listen live online through the Varsity Network.
"We are thrilled to partner with Lotus Communications and KPLY 630 AM for the 2023-24 season," Wolf Pack Sports Properties General Manager Eric Kovac said. "We always aim to provide a great experience for Nevada Wolf Pack fans and we are confident this is another way to enhance that experience. Our upcoming women's basketball season is going to be exciting and we are proud to have an exclusive radio broadcast home for every game."
Burnett, a former Los Angeles Lakers and ESPN broadcaster, enters his third season as the voice of Nevada women's basketball. Prior to his arrival in Reno, Burnett also served as a play-by-play announcer for Pepperdine basketball and baseball and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks.
Nevada returns nine letterwinners from the previous season, including three of its top four leading scorers from 2022-23 (Lexie Givens,
Audrey Roden,
Victoria Davis). The Pack will also welcome eight newcomers, including a pair of graduate transfers from Division I schools to go with six freshmen.
Nevada women's basketball has won over 480 games since its membership in the NCAA and has accumulated five postseason appearances. The Pack has had at least one player named All-Mountain West since joining the conference prior to the 2012-13 season. Entering her seventh season at Nevada, Levens has coached 10 All-Mountain West honorees, five professional players and guided the Pack to a pair of postseason appearances.
The Pack will begin the 2023-24 regular season against 2023 NCAA Tournament participant and defending Big Sky champions Sacramento State Thursday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center. As part of Pack Provisions, tickets will be $3 with the donation of a canned good.
