Sensational Final Round Propels Leah John to Individual Title at Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational

TACOMA, Wash. - Entering the final round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational tied for 11th, Leah John was four strokes back from the top spot on the leaderboard; however, John put together an incredible final round performance, matching the best score of her career and second best score in program history, fueling her to a first-place finish and marking the second individual title of her career.

John carded a 66 (-6), bringing her 54-hole score to 211 (-5) and propelling her to a one-stroke victory over GCU's Carly Strole.

John was one of three Pack golfers to finish within the top-10, as Gabby Kano (T8) and Nikki Chindavong (T10) assisted in driving the Pack to a second-place finish in the team standings.

Nevada completed the event with a combined score of 869 (+5), securing the second-place finish in a field of 22 teams.

John was nothing short of tremendous in the final round, as she tallied 10 pars, seven birdies, and just one bogey to record the 66. The victory also marked the tenth top-10 finish of John's career, including her fifth top-five finish.

Kano carded a 75 (+3) for the final round, as she secured the second top-10 finish of her young career. Kano concluded the event tied for eighth at even par. The sophomore had 11 pars and two birdies throughout the final round.

Making her debut in the Wolf Pack lineup, Chindavong was incredibly consistent throughout the event, and she carded a 73 (+1) for the final round, placing her in a tie for tenth on the final leaderboard at +1. The freshman recorded 15 pars and one eagle on the par-5 ninth hole.

Anna Shultse closed out the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational by recording a 75, and she completed the event tied for 50th at +9. Shultse had 11 pars and two birdies throughout the final round.

Raesa Sheikh rounded out the Nevada lineup, carding a 75 for the second consecutive round. She concluded the tournament tied for 65th at +12. Sheikh tallied 13 pars and one birdie across the final round.

The second-place finish by the Pack is the Women's Golf Program's best since The Clash at Boulder Creek in 2022, and the three Pack golfers in the top-10 also marks the first time that has occurred since The Clash at Boulder Creek.
