OAHU, Hawaii - The Nevada Women's Golf team closed out the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with their best round of the event by 12 strokes, as the Pack carded an exceptional score of 285 (-3).
Nevada completed the tournament with a 54-hole score of 878 (+14), placing them in sole possession of fifth place on the final team leaderboard. The Pack's final round score propelled them three spots in the standings on Wednesday.
After recording a score of 76 (+4) for the second round, sophomore Gabby Kano bounced back to lead the Pack, carding a 70 (-2) to close out the event. Kano's impressive final round included 12 pars, four birdies, and just two bogeys. Kano concluded the Rainbow Wahine Invitational tied for 20th on the individual leaderboard.
Playing the final round on her birthday, sophomore Anna Shultse had an equally impressive outing, matching Kano's superb score of 70 (-2). Shultse's strong final performance advanced her seven spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 22nd overall. She accumulated 12 pars, four birdies, and just two bogeys throughout the final set of 18 holes.
Leah John concluded the event with a final round score of 73 (+1) after tallying 16 pars and one birdie. John closed out what was a sensational fall season that included two outright victories with a T27 finish at +4.
Nikki Chindavong had her best round of the week in the third and final round, as she carded a 72 (+2) Wednesday to advance eight spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 37th at +8. Chindavong compiled 14 pars and two birdies in the final round.
Payton Lovisa rounded out the Nevada lineup, recording a 75 (+3) to finish the first event of her collegiate career tied for 45th at +9.

The conclusion of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational marks the end of a phenomenally successful fall season for the Pack, as Nevada earned three top-five finishes in four events this fall, and John secured two individual titles.
Nevada will return to the course on Monday, February 5, when they are slated to begin competition at the 2024 Beach Invitational.
