PROVO, Utah – The 34th ranked Nevada men's golf team concludes the regular season in the 57th PING Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah.
 
The Pack looks to pad its postseason resume with its second straight appearance in the PING Cougar Classic after finishing 10th in the event during the 2020-21 season. Nevada posted its ninth-highest 54-hole tournament score (841) during the PING Golf Cougar Classic in 2005-06. Jered Becher won the 2009-10 PING Cougar Classic to mark one of 32 individual tournament winners entering the season.
 
The Wolf Pack will send a team of five golfers to compete in the PING Cougar Classic with Quim Vidal Mora, Peyton Callens, A.J. Lintunen, Trey Davis, and Michael Sarro making up the team entry. Adam Thorpe will be the sixth member competing as an individual.
 
Nevada has added two individual tournament winners to the list this season with Vidal Mora taking the Saint Mary's Invitational and Callens earning his first-career win in The Goodwin on Mar. 26.
 
The team has finished in the top-5 in its last five straight tournaments and has never finished outside of the top-7 this season. Vidal Mora has posted the second-lowest scoring average in program history (70.11) entering the final tournament of the regular season. Vidal Mora is the 70th ranked golfer in the country per GolfStat.com, with a scoring average of 71.05 adjusted scoring average this season. He has played 27 rounds and has a national scoring rating of 22 which is the fourth-highest in program history.
 
Lintunen is fourth in program history with an average score of 70.18, Callens is fifth in program history (70.81).
 
The Pack's 34th ranking is the second-highest the team has been ranked this year after being ranked as high as 33rd during the fall season.  The team has never won the PING Cougar Classic.
 
Nevada will join 12 teams including hosts BYU and Boise State, Dixie State, New Mexico State, San Diego, UVU, Wyoming, Air Force, Pacific, Saint Mary's, and Washington State making up the field.
 
The action begins with two rounds (36 holes) of play at 8 a.m. (PT) on each day of the tournament (Fri., & Sat.).
