Kyla Waiters has been selected to represent the USA deaf volleyball team in the 24
th Summer DeafLympics in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.

Lee Nelson, "She is doing some great things on the court right now and has put herself in a position to really contribute and shine for Team USA in Brazil."
The Deflympics is set to start on May 1
st with the all the sports going until May 15
th. The first game of volleyball is going to be played on May 4
th.
Deaflympics is an international multi-sport event, organized by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD – International Committee of Sports for the Deaf). The first edition was held in Paris in 1924, was also the first sporting event for people with special needs.
The Summer Deaflympics takes place every 4 years and is the oldest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. The 24th summer edition, it is expected to receive 4,500 deaf athletes and teams from over 100 countries.
As a historical landmark, Brazil will be the First Country in Latin America to host the Summer Deaflympic Games.
