SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – The final day of the Aztec Invitational has wrapped up, and the Pack finished with some individual personal bests, an all-time mark, and a fifth place team finish.
The first all-time mark came from an athlete who showed out during the indoor season. Junior Maria Milani moved up to eighth all-time at Nevada with her sixth-place mark of 12.00 meters. This mark passes Aurelia Hudson's 2009 mark of 11.69m.
Some of the other personal bests earned on the day were in the long jump. Junior Rayven Nealey finished in 5th with a mark of 5.82m. This mark was .10m better than her old personal best and is just below the 10th Nevada all-time mark. Also earning a personal best was Milani, who improved her mark from 5.32m, to 5.54m.
Nelaey also would earn a personal best in the 4x100m relay with junior Emily Costello, sophomore Lillian Gregg, and sophomore Sarah Marske. The team would finish in fifth place with a time of 46.60. The time would also be just below the Nevada 10th all-time mark and would be Marske's personal best in the event.
Costello and Gregg would have even more success when the two athletes competed in the 400m dash. Costello earned the second best mark in the event with her time of 54.09. Gregg would finish in seventh with a time of 56.53. This time beating her old personal best of 57.49.
In the 1500m, freshman Alison Graf finished in the top-10 with her time of 4:36.02. This was Graf's first outdoor collegiate meet. Senior Tabatha Walford finished the event with a time of 4:40.06, which was just below her personal best mark of 4:32.94.
The pole vault event saw new personal bests from three of their athletes. Freshman Camrin Dolcini finished with a mark of 3.61m. The top mark by Pack vaulters. Sophomore Samantha Irwin and freshman Hannah Watson both earned personal best's of 3.31m. Watson would also earn a personal best in the 200m dash (28.57).
Some other top marks include senior Iesha Hamm who finished in fifth with a height of 1.71m. The 4x400m relay team would finish the meet in fifth with a time of 3:47.58. Senior Alexis Melendrez finished in seventh in the 5000m run with her time of 18:08.41.
The Nevada track team will look to compete in two meets next week. Both at the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
