SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Nevada women's golf team is set to compete against a competitive field in The
Gunrock Invitational hosted by UC Davis at Del Paso Country Club on Monday, Feb. 28.

The Pack has competed in The
Gunrock Invitational three times in recent program history. Nevada finished 10th in its last two appearances and 6th during its first appearance on Mar. 4-5, 2019. Victoria
Gailey posted the lowest scores in all three events for Nevada.

Nevada will send a team of five to The
Gunrock Invitational and two individual competitors with the quintet of
Leah John,
Anitra Khoth, Victoria
Gailey, Kaitlin
Fleiner, and Danni
Ujimori making up the team entry.
Maddy Zunino and
Raesa Sheikh make up the individual entry for the Wolf Pack.

The Pack is coming off a strong performance to finish second at The Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas, Nev.
Leah John was named Mountain West Golfer of the Week after winning the individual championship with a four-under-par score. It marked the first career win for John.

The
11-team field at the Gunrock Invite is highly competitive and includes hosts UC Davis, BYU, No. 44 Cal, Cal Poly, No. 37 Iowa State, Nevada, Sacramento State, San Francisco, No. 1 Stanford, UC Irvine, No. 46 Washington.

Play gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, with the first two rounds of the 54-hole Invitational. The second day and third and final round gets going with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 1. Spectators are allowed, social distancing is required, and masks are required indoors.Â

Next up will be the Dr.
Donnis Thompson Invitational at
Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii on Mar. 7-8.
