THE RETURN OF THE SENIORS
Nevada is looking to continue a strong campaign going into the 2021-2022 season, with three important seniors returning from last year. Donna dePolo, Caitlyn McHugh, and Montana Lloyd are back, after being given an extra year of eligibility due to Covid-19.
DePolo, McHugh, and Lloyd were important pieces to the Pack in last year's Mountain West Championships run, scoring big individual points for the team. Both DePolo and McHugh visited the podium in their individual and relay events.Â
NEW KIDS IN THE PACK
Nevada welcomes two newcomers to the squad for the 2021-2022 season: swimmer Jessica Kraus (freshman, from Boise, Idaho) and diver Lucia Gabino (freshman, from Madrid, Spain).Â
SUCCESSFUL COACHING STAFF
Nevada head coach Brendon Bray enters his sixth season leading the program, after leading the Pack into a second place at the Mountain West Championship last season. Alongside Bray is Nevada diving coach Jian Li You, who is in her 26th season with the Wolf Pack. This summer, You was the first female diving coach for Team USA to participate in a Summer Olympics. Jian Li coached Krysta Palmer, this program's Diving volunteer coach, to an Olympic Bronze Medal in Tokyo 2021. Palmer was the first individual female medalist since Sydney 2000, and the first to do so in the 3-meter springboard since 1988.Â
