Reno, Nev. - After picking up a 2-0 win in the Nevada Classic tournament, the Nevada volleyball team is set to start conference play this week. The Pack will continue to play at home and will take matches against San Diego State and UNLV, hoping to continue the winning streak.Â
THE WEEKEND
Nevada is set to host San Diego State on Thursday, Sep. 23 and in-state rival UNLV for the Silver Series on Saturday, Sep. 25. The match against the Aztecs is set to be taken at 6 p.m. while the match on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. at the Virginia Street Gym.Â
Saturday's match against UNLV will be a student appreciation and a blue-out game. Fans attending the match are encouraged to wear Nevada blue t-shirts. Giveaways and a serving contest for students are also going to be placed during the match.Â

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
In the last tournament play of the season, the junior Sydney Petersen was nominated the MVP of the Nevada Classic tournament after the team pick 2-0 over Sacramento State and CSUN. Petersen recorded a .618 hitting percentage going 23-for-34 with 2.88 kills per set. She also tallied a service ace and three digs along with eleven blocks combined in both matches.
Junior Andrea Alcaraz and senior Kyla Waiters were also nominated into the All-tournament team. Alcaraz finished the weekend with 55 assists, with 6.88 assists per set. The junior also scored one service ace, and 11 digs throughout both matches. Waiters scored 21 kills with a .226 hitting percentage. The senior also recorded 12 digs, and eight blocks, with one of them being a solo block.Â
LEADERS OF THE PACK
Continuing on leading the Pack, Sydney Petersen, Andrea Alcaraz, Reka Monteleone, and Kaila Spevak are still in the top 10 conference individual leaders ranking. Petersen is now ranked the third-best hitting percentage in the conference with .404. While Alcaraz maintains her position in fifth with the most assists (301), recording 7.92 per set. Monteleone also maintains her position in kills, recording 110 kills with 2.89 per set. Spevak has now recorded 148 digs, averaging 3.89 digs per set.Â
