Reno, Nev. - After starting off the season on the road, the Nevada volleyball team is back and will finally play at Virginia Street Gym. With a 1-8 start to the season, the Pack is looking to improve this season's record.Â
THE WEEKEND
Nevada will be hosting two other teams this weekend, Sacramento State and CSUN, with the matches starting on Thursday, Sep. 16.
The Pack will kick off the tournament against Sacramento State at 6 p.m. on Thursday. On Saturday, Nevada is back on the court to play CSUN at 2 p.m. All the Nevada matches are going to be live streamed at the Mountain West website. Live stats are going to be available to all the tournament matches at the Nevada Wolf Pack website.
Fans can purchase their tickets here. Free parking will be available at the top floor of the Brian J. Whalen Parking.Â
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
At the Cal Classic tournament this past weekend, senior Kaila Spevak was the Nevada representative in the All-Tournament team. Spevak led the Pack defense with 40 digs, three assists and scored three service aces throughout the week.Â
LEADERS OF THE PACK
In this weekend's conference leaders ranking, Andrea Alcaraz, Sydney Petersen, and Spevak, continue in the top 10 conference performances. Joining the ranking this weekend was sophomore Reka Monteleone.Â
Petersen continues leading the Pack in hitting percentage with a .356, and is now placed in sixth. Alcaraz leads the Pack in assists with a score of 246, averaging 8.20 per set. Spevak has now 118 digs, averaging 3.93 per set, and continues to place fifth overall. Monteleone enters the ranking with 85 kills, with an average of 2.83 per set.Â
