RENO, Nev. – Nevada will host an Olympics send-off for diving alum and assistant dive coach

Jian Li You, taking place at 12 p.m. Monday, July 12, at the south staircase of Lawlor Events Center.
The event is open to the public. Free parking will be available on the top level of Brian Whalen Garage.
Palmer will represent Team USA in the synchronized 3-meter springboard and 3-meter springboard at the Tokyo Summer Games on July 25-Aug. 1. Palmer nabbed her first Olympic berth in the synchronized 3-meter springboard, totaling a first place score of 899.82 with partner Alison Gibson. Palmer topped the field in the 3-meter springboard with a final score of 1011.95, earning her second berth. You is one of nine coaches selected to the U.S. Olympic Diving Team coaching staff.
The Carson City, Nev., native is the seventh Olympian in program history and the first to represent Team USA. Other Nevada swim and dive Olympians include Natalia Pulido (Spain 1992), Lise Mackie (Australia, 1992-96), Chavisa Thaveesupsoonthorn (Thailand, 2004-08), May Ooi (Singapore 1992), Limin Liu (China, 1996-2000) and Diana Sokolowska (Poland, 2012).
