RENO, Nev. – Nevada men's golf coach Jacob Wilner has signed graduate transfer A.J. Lintunen to the Wolf Pack's roster for 2021-22.
 
"We are excited that A.J. will be joining us in the fall," said Wilner. "He brings a wealth of experience and has proven he can win events."
 
Lintunen, a native of Finland, spent four years at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga where he earned a bachelor's degree in business finance. During his four seasons with the Mocs he recorded a scoring average of 74.10 with two victories. He is one of just seven with multiple career wins in program history. To close out his tenure at Chattanooga he compiled a scoring average of 72.61 over his last 41 rounds. Lintunen was selected to the All-Southern Conference team following the 2020-21 season.
 
During his all-conference season in 2020-21, Lintunen led the Mocs with a 72.93 scoring average and collected two wins and three top five. His season also included 11 par or better rounds with a team-high four in the 60s. He was also first on the Mocs in birdies (3.23), par or better holes (78.2%), fewest others (0.46), as well as par 3 (3.17) and par 4 (4.12) scoring.
 
Prior to his time in college, Lintunen was an All-State performer at Chattanooga's Baylor School in 2016. He was named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps first team in 2017 and earned the Jim Phifer Award. During the 2016 TSSAA Division 2-AA State Championship he tied for third place and was the runner-up in the fourth event of the 2017 Audi Finnish Pro Tour.
 
He will join the Wolf Pack this fall semester.
