MARICOPA, Ariz. – With two rounds complete at the Cowgirl Classic in Arizona, the Nevada women's golf team is in fifth place.
 
The Wolf Pack carded team scores of 295 and 294 on Monday and is 13-over par for the tournament and in fifth place in the 20-team field. Nevada is four shots back of fourth place, and 10 behind New Mexico State for third. The top two teams, Grand Canyon and South Dakota State, are the only two teams in the field currently under par. The Antelopes lead the Jackrabbits by three shots at 5-under par heading into Tuesday's final round.
 
Junior Victoria Gailey, who won the BYU Spring Classic her last time out, leads the way for the Wolf Pack with 36 holes completed. Gailey went 73-71 today and is even for the tournament and in a tie for seventh place. After a 1-over 73 in round one, Gailey had a near flawless round two as she collected two birdies and just one bogey to post a 1-under 71 and jump 16 spots in the afternoon into the top 10.
 
Sophomore Leah John also had a solid day for the Pack as she is currently tied for 16^th place in the 114-player field. John fired rounds of 74 and 73 to sit at 3-over for the tournament. Kayla Nocum ranks in the top 25 after day one and is just behind John at 4-over par after shooting rounds of 73 and 75. Anitra Khoth is tied for 52^nd, and Maddy Zunino is tied for 67^th, but did turn around her first round score from a 79 to a 75 in round two.
 
There are just six individuals currently under par in the entire field. Gailey is one shot back of jumping into the top five, and six shots back of the lead. Brittany Shin of Cal State Fullerton leads the individual field by one stroke at 6-under par.
