SAN DIEGO, Calif. – With two rounds complete in the Lamkin San Diego Classic the Nevada men's golf team is in second place and in striking distance with 18 holes to play.
 
On a day where low scores were hard to come by up and down the leaderboard, the Wolf Pack posted a team score of 298 on Tuesday to finish the day in second place in the 20-team field. Nevada will head into Wednesday's final round at 8-over par for the tournament, nine strokes behind UCLA for the team lead. The Bruins are currently the only team in the field under par, at 1-under.
 
Senior Sam Meek fired the only under par round for the Wolf Pack on Tuesday, carding a 1-under 71. Meek jumped nearly 40 spots on the individual leaderboard with his second round score and is now tied for 30^th place in the 112-player field at 4-over par. Meek collected four birdies in his round and did not have anything worse than bogey. Fellow senior Sam Harned is the highest ranking Wolf Pack player in the field as he will enter the final round tied for fourth place. Harned, who led after day one at 5-under, is currently 1-under par for the tournament after recording a 4-over 76 on Tuesday. Devon Bling of UCLA paces the individual field at 7-under.
 
Junior Trey Davis is also in the top 20 with 18 holes remaining as he is tied for 19^th place. Davis shot a 3-over 75 in the second round to put him at 2-over par for the tournament. Sophomore Michael Sarro carded a 4-over 76 today and is tied for 37^th, while senior Brendan MacDougall is tied for 63^rd at 9-over par.
