Box Score RENO, Nev. – The Nevada volleyball team dropped a four-set match to New Mexico on Saturday at Virginia State Gym to wrap up two-match series between the teams to open the Mountain West season.
Nevada fell to 0-2 while New Mexico improved to 2-0 on the young season.
The Wolf Pack dig itself a hole early against the Lobos, dropping the first set 25-18 and the second 25-15. But the young Nevada squad showed some early-season resiliency by fight back with a win in the third set, 25-17.

"I'm disappointed with the losses but there are a number of great takeaways that we will gain from these two matches," said sixth-year head coach
Lee Nelson. "We have such a young team and I'm excited with some of the things we've seen so far from a number of our freshmen. And we are getting a steady contribution from our returners as well."

Kassie McGill had 15 and
Brianna Souza added 10. Monteleone, Souza and
Kaila Spevak each recorded a team-high three blocks and Spevak led the way with 18 digs for Nevada. Sophomore
