Junior
Da'Ja Hamilton has established herself as one of the premier players in the Mountain West this season. In the series finale at UNLV, not only did she hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds on the clock to break a 70-70 tie, but she finished the contest with a career-high 32 points, the first 30-point game of her career. Hamilton's 32 points at UNLV rank as the most points in a single game by a Mountain West player this season. In the game she connected on 12-of-23 from the field and was 4-of-7 from the 3-point line, but really caught fire in the fourth quarter. Hamilton's first triple of the game was a half court heave at the buzzer just before halftime, sending Nevada to the locker room trailing by only two. Her other three triples all came in the fourth quarter, helping Nevada to keep pace with UNLV, and eventually, seal the win for the Wolf Pack.
She followed that performance up with two near 20-point games at Boise State, scoring 19 in game one and 18 in game two. She is now just eight points shy of reaching 600 points in her career. Entering this week's series at Colorado State, Hamilton is averaging 15.1 points per game, which ranks her fourth in the conference. At 2.8 assists per game, she's just outside the top 10 in that category.
BIG TIME WIN IN BOISE
The 64-44 victory in Boise over the defending MW tournament champs Boise State was big for the Wolf Pack for many reasons. It snapped an 8-game losing streak to the Broncos that dated back to the 2017-18 season, was just the sixth road win at Boise State in 30 games, marked Nevada's largest margin of victory this season at 20 points, and the Pack defense held the Broncos to a season-low 44 points. Nevada's defense was lights out in the game, also keeping the Broncos to just 2-of-19 from beyond the arc and under 30 percent shooting for the game. The second quarter proved to be the real difference maker in the contest as the Wolf Pack outscored Boise State 17-3 in that quarter and held the Broncos without a made field goal until 30 seconds remained in the period.
ON A ROLL
The Wolf Pack is on a bit of a roll as of late, having won four of its last six games. This six-game stretch has included a two-game sweep of Wyoming, a series split against in-state rival UNLV, which included the Pack's first regular series win against UNLV in Las Vegas in program history, and a series split at Boise State. Nevada is now 9-8 overall this season and 5-7 in conference play, which puts the team seventh in the conference standings, just one game back of Wyoming for sixth.
During this six-game stretch Nevada is averaging just over 62 points per game, but it's been the defense that has been the selling point, holding opponents to 58.5 points per game, including a season-low of 44 for Boise State in the series finale win. Opponent shooting percentages have plummeted during this stretch as well as the Wolf Pack is holding its opponents to 36.8 percent from the field and to just 25.2 percent from beyond the arc. Nevada holds the edge in rebounding as well in its last six games at a +7.0 margin on the glass.
MILESTONE WATCH
Nevada has a few players who are approaching milestones, some of whom could hit those numbers over the span of the next two games.

Leta Otuafi - 10 points shy of 100
•
Bethany Carstens - 25 points shy of 400
•
Amaya West - 35 points shy of 400
•
Da'Ja Hamilton - 8 points shy of 600
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON
Nevada head coach
Amanda Levens is nearing a milestone in her head coaching career as she is just three wins shy of reaching 100 in her career. Levens took over the Wolf Pack in 2017-18 and holds a record of 55-60 while with Nevada. In her two head coaching stints, which includes three plus seasons at Nevada and four seasons at the helm at Southern Illinois, Edwardsville, she owns an overall career record of 97-136. In both head coaching stints she took over struggling programs, attempting to rebuild.
UP NEXT: TOURNEY TIME
Nevada will wait to see if either the postponed series against Air Force or Colorado State, or both, will be made up before beginning the 2021 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Championship on March 7. If neither series is made up, the Wolf Pack will head to Las Vegas to begin its run towards the program's first MW title.
