LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Junior
Victoria Gailey is in the hunt following round one of The Rebel Beach, the Wolf Pack's first event of the 2021 season.
The second round was suspended due to darkness and will be resumed early Tuesday morning. As of now, only the first round results are official.
Gailey caught fire down the stretch of the opening round to post a 1-under 71 in Monday's first round. The Oregon native played the last seven holes of her round at 3-under par, with three birdies and no bogeys. As of the end of the first round she is tied for fourth and two shots back of the leader.
As a team Nevada posted an opening round score of 301 (+13) and is tied for eighth place in the 13-team field. Sophomore
Anitra Khoth currently sits inside the top 15 in the 74-player field after shooting a 1-over 73 on Monday. Fellow sophomore
Leah John posted a 5-over 77 in her 2021 debut and is tied for 46
th place. Freshman
Kathleen Keomahavong and sophomore
Kaitlin Fleiner, who are both making their collegiate tournament debuts this week, rounded out the Pack scores in a tie for 62
nd and 74
th, respectively.
Nevada will conclude the remainder of the second round of the event and the third round on Tuesday.
