Pack set for matches against Colorado State and Wyoming

Reno, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team is back at the Virginia Street Gym for two home matches. The Pack will play against Colorado State and Wyoming, and is looking for the first win of conference play. 

THE WEEKEND
First, the Pack will play Colorado State on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. before playing Wyoming on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 12 p.m. 

The match against the Rams will be themed as the Perform with the Pack night, where kids will be able to perform with the Nevada cheerleading squad. 

On Saturday, the match against the Cowgirls will be marked as the Redfield Foundation match and a celebration of Hispanic Latinx Month, where the first 50 fans will receive a Heritage Latinx t-shirt. 

The match will also be a crossover with the football, where fans with tickets for the evening game against New Mexico State will be able to get in the volleyball match for free, with the proof of tickets purchase.

Tickets for both matches can be purchased here. A live stream will be available through the Mountain West Network, and live stats are going to be available on the Nevada Wolf Pack website. 

LEADERS OF THE PACK

In the latest up-to-date Conference individual leaders ranking, Sydney Petersen, Andrea Alcaraz, and Kaila Spevak continue to lead the Pack in hitting percentage, assists, and digs.

Petersen continues being an elite hitter for the team, placed in fourth in the ranking with a .382 hitting percentage. Alcaraz is now placed in sixth with 382 assists, averaging 7.35 per set, while Spevak, placed in fifth continues to lead the Pack defense with 192 digs, averaging 3.69 per set. 

SCOUTING THE RAMS

Colorado State is placed fifth in conference standings, coming off from a loss against Fresno State in 3-1. Kennedy Stanford leads the Rams with 146 kills, averaging 3.11 kills per set. Stanford is ranked eighth in the conference individual leaders ranking. Setter, Ciera Pritchard is placed in third overall with 466 assists, averaging 9.32 per set. Pritchard is also on the service aces ranking with a total of 20, and it is currently tied in eighth. Leading the Rams defense and also the conference rankings is Alexa Roumeliotis with a total of 234 digs, averaging 4.68 digs per game.

SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS

Wyoming is placed 10th, coming off from a lost sweep against Fresno. The Cowgirls have not won a conference match yet. Leading the Cowgirls is KC McMahon with 160 kills, averaging 2.91 per set, with a hitting percentage of .204. Payton Chamberlain leads the assists with 375, averaging 6.82 per set. Erika Jones leads the Cowgirls defense with 142 digs, averaging 2.54 per set so far this season. Lydeke King has a total of 38, averaging 1.09 per set blocks this season.
