RENO, Nev. -- Nevada football kicker Brandon Talton was named Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the conference office today.
It's the second Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week honor of the season for Talton after making 3-of-3 on field goals and 6-for-6 on PATs against UNLV on Friday, Oct. 29. Talton kicked a season-long 52-yard field goal along with 23 and 22-yard FG. The 52-yarder marked the second-longest of his career dating back to a 56-yarder that he kicked in his first-career appearance to win a home game against Purdue (34-31) on Aug. 30, 2019.
His 15 total points against UNLV tied a season-high set at Boise State on Oct. 2 (4-4 FG, 3-3 PAT), which was the first time he received the Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
Talton has 83 total points this year to bring his career total to 246, which is sixth all-time at Nevada. His 53 field goals are third all-time, trailing Marty Zendejas (1st; 72) and Tony Zendejas (2nd; 70) in career field goals with the Wolf Pack.
The junior from Vacaville, California, has made 17 of 21 field-goal attempts this season. The 17 made FG ties him for 8th on the all-time single-season field goals list in Nevada football history.
Nevada is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., against San Jose State at Mackay Stadium. Tickets can be purchased here.
