Wolf Pack set for 2026 Old Trapper Mountain West Football Media Days in Las Vegas

RENO, Nev. - 2026 Old Trapper Mountain West Media Days begins the official countdown to kickoff, as the 10 conference institutions converge at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas this Wednesday-Thursday, July 15-16, for the annual event.

Nevada will be represented at Media Days by head coach Jeff Choate, entering his third season at the Wolf Pack helm, along with WR Marshaun Brown, OL Jack Foster, EDGE Dylan LaBarbera and LB EJ Smith.

2026 Old Trapper Mountain West Media Days will feature a live Mountain West Network show streaming each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT exclusively on MW+, the conference's new subscription streaming platform. This week's Media Day coverage will be FREE on MW+ and Wolf Pack fans can subscribe now by clicking HERE and entering code WELCOME15 for 15 percent off the annual subscription price.

Wednesday will feature 40 student-athletes (four from each school) meeting with media and appearing on the live show with the 10 head coaches taking center stage on Thursday. Brown, Foster, LaBarbera and Smith are scheduled to make their appearance on the Mountain West Network Live Show from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday with Choate scheduled for 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The 2026 Preseason All-Mountain West Team is scheduled to be announced Wednesday morning at the start of the event.

Each of the Wolf Pack's attendees aims to lead Nevada to greater heights in 2026 after strong individual 2025 campaigns. LaBarbera, who earned spots on the HERO Sports Group of Five All-America Team and Pro Football Focus (PFF) All-Group of Six Team for his performance last season, finished 2025 tied for eighth in the country with 17.0 tackles-for-loss and sixth with 1.42 TFLs per game. This summer, he has already been named to the Preseason All-Mountain West First Teams of both Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.

Smith returns to his linebacker spot looking to build off a promising 2025 campaign which was cut short due to injury after seven games. His impact was felt for the Pack over that first half of the season as Smith had 29 tackles with two interceptions and a forced fumble prior to his campaign's abrupt end. Despite the short season in 2025, the hype around Smith in 2026 is real as he was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Second Teams of both Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.

Foster established himself as an anchor for The Union in 2025, starting all 12 games and being named the team's Basalite Big Blocker Award winner by coaching staff. Foster firmed up the left-tackle spot last season and so far this summer was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West First Teams of both Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.

Brown, who hails from Reno and is a graduate of Bishop Manogue High School, appeared in 10 games with three starts for the Wolf Pack last season. Brown finished with 16 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown, the first of his collegiate career. Some of his top performances last season included career highs in catches (seven) and receiving yards (75) at New Mexico, and a four-catch, 35-yard effort against Boise State.

Nevada opens the 2026 season with two-straight home contests, first hosting defending New Orleans Bowl champion Western Kentucky Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m. before facing reigning FCS champion Montana State Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m.
