Jacob Wilner has added Brendan Seys to the Wolf Pack roster for the 2020-21 season. Seys, a transfer from Wayne State University, will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Wolf Pack.
"We are thrilled to add Brendan to our program for next season," said Wilner. "He brings years of college experience, has proven he is a winner and plays at a very high level. He makes us an extremely deep program and we are so excited to get back to work in late August."
Seys, spent four seasons at Wayne State and earned a bachelor's degree in finance, but with the COVID-19 pandemic shortening the 2019-20 campaign, Seys was granted an extra year of eligibility and transferred to Nevada. He posted a remarkable four years at Division II Wayne State, compiling a career scoring average of 73.14. Despite a shortened 2019-20 season, Seys posted a single-season career low scoring average of 70.57 in 14 rounds of play and posted a top five finish in all six events he participated in.
Throughout his career at Wayne State, Seys picked up multiple noteworthy accolades which included 2019-20 GLIAC Player of the Year, three Division II PING Midwest All-Region awards, a Division II PING second team All-American honor, he was a three-time first team and one-time second team All-GLIAC selection and was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 2016-17. In terms of finishes on the golf course, Seys collected five individual victories over the 48 events he competed in and added 21 top 10 finishes.
A 2016 graduate of Ursuline College Chatham High School in Kent, Ontario, Canada, Seys was a two-time district champion and posted a career scoring average of 71.6. He tied for 18th at the High School Provincial Championships in 2014 and tied for 24th out of 155 participants at the Ontario Junior Championships. Seys was a third team Future Collegians World Tour All-American selection and a four-time All-Provincial Team Ontario honoree.
Seys is the fifth signee in Wilner's 2020 signing class and will join Jack Steck, Tom Patterson, Sean Minor and Brendan MacDougall as the newest members of the Pack this fall.
