RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is in action this week at the Rebel Beach Invitational down in Las Vegas.
 
The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas beginning on Monday and will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. The course will play at a par of 72 and a length of 6,355 yards. The Wolf Pack will be one of 11 teams entered in the field this week, along with tournament hosts UNLV and Long Beach State.
 
Nevada's spring season debut was cut short last week as all 54 holes of the Battle at the Rock were canceled due to inclement weather. Head coach Kathleen Takaishi will send the same five that were scheduled to compete last week to the event this week. The Nevada lineup includes senior Katy Rutherford, sophomores Danni Ujimori and Victoria Gailey and freshmen Leah John and Kayla Nocum.
 
The Wolf Pack has competed in this event for the past two seasons, tying for eighth place last year. Gailey had a solid performance in 2019 as she tied for third place and shot two of her three rounds at par or better at this same golf course.
