Strong has earned preseason recognition from Athlon Sports as well as being named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award. He is poised for a strong sophomore follow up to a redshirt freshman season in 2019 where he threw for 2,335 yards and 11 touchdowns, completing 63.4 percent of his passes. Strong averaged 233.5 passing yards per game, good for fifth in the Mountain West.
